We probably don’t remember all the questions we use to ask as a child, but some questions we may remember because of the response we got. As we have become older we have seen and heard other children asking question after question. Some topics we learned were alright to ask questions about and some topics we developed a fear to ask about. “That’s just the way it is“, “Somethings are never meant to be known“, “It is a mystery that we cannot understand“, “Your great-grandfather, your grandfather, your father, and that is the way it will be for you“, “it is the way it is“, are just some of the replies we have heard all of our lives in response to our questions.

A student said to another student “that was a stupid question” and you could feel the beating down of those words echoing through everyone’s mind. The teacher spoke and said, “There are no stupid questions, only the ones you do not ask“. Over the many years from a young child to adulthood we have submitted ourselves to the pressure of “that was a stupid question“, “you should not question that” and “you’re wrong just do what you are told“.

After living life long enough to be used by people, lied to by people, backstabbing by people, falsely accused by people, smile in your face and talk behind your back people you develop a broken heart, don’t believe, don’t trust anyone and question everything around you. The old saying of “Don’t judge a book by its cover” rings loud and clear to what may be hidden beneath the cover of the pages inside could be totally opposite of what the outside is proclaiming. I feel in love with the words to a song “Smilin Faces Sometimes” by the Undisputed Truth group and still holds it to be true to this day concerning people. This will leave a huge hole in your life unless you find that something to fill that emptiness, but who can you trust?

A family that is religious does not mean when you are born into this family that you are automatically preset religious. Going to church does not mean you are automatically a believer. A worldly family does not mean when you are born into this family that you are automatically preset to be worldly. As a growing young person you will have questions for the world as to why they do the things they do and questions for the religion as to why they do the things they do. Questions are simply a desire to know truth. The world and the church have some things in common – they are both made up of people. People in the world and the church can get upset when you ask questions because the answer could be a truth neither one wants to face.

I came to a place in life I trusted animals more than I did people. At least animals are true to their nature. People can pretend, act like, and present themselves to be one thing and all along inside they are another, which I have come to know as wolves in sheep’s clothing (Mt. 7:15), disguised as an angel of light, demons as servers of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:14). People can look beautiful and all cleaned up on the outside, but on the inside full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean (Mtt. 23:27). People can and will fall short in failure to all of us because they are not perfect all the time, which is another excuse of mankind to purposely fail due to imperfection. Then what do we do in this quest for just pure truth.

After searching for many years for answers of truth in people I heard that thought crossing over my mind “You have tried everything else why not try Me ” – Me as in God. We spend too much time searching in fleshly people than we do the Spirit of God. I got a Bible and started treating it as my friend. I started asking any and every question I ever wanted to ask searching them out in the Bible. How do You feel about jealousy? How do You feel about marriage? How do You feel about anger? How do You react to liars? How should a wife be or a husband? An open relationship was born between my spirit and God’s Spirit through His Word – the Bible. Sure people wrote the Bible, but they were led by the Spirit of God beyond their fleshly faults – cool right.

Entering into the religious world (looking for people to fellowship) reveals very quickly all the diverse of beliefs and doctrines. You find again the questions you may have are pushed away with generic answers to pacify or avoided with that it is not meant for mankind to know responses. Again, you quickly see that this walk with God should never be based upon a foundation of people, but on the rock solid floor of fellowship between you and God. Don’t even let a hypocrite get between you and God for nothing should get between you and the friend that will never let you down – Jesus, God in the flesh.

The Bible and God’s Spirit became my absolute best friend. I trust no one more than Him and His Word. When people discover this about you then the bar room religions come out, the chicken before the egg comes out, three Gods versus one God, plan of salvation comes out, once saved always saved comes out, sprinkling of water or water baptism comes out, what is heaven and hell issues comes out, and many other things comes out. People will take the word of God and begin to swing it like a bat, twist it for their personal gain, hide behind it for their sinful deeds, and control others for personal glory.  The Bible has been used to war against others.

My relationship with God and His word is like a Father’s love for his son and a son’s love for his Father. I am not afraid (1 Jn. 4:18) to ask questions or be asked questions about the Bible. I do not know all things, but what I do know is that I can trust God and His word to provide answers of pure truth. As an example: All I knew was to confess I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal savior I would automatically receive His Spirit (Ro. 10:9), and water baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Mtt.28:19) was an outward confession of my faith in Jesus Christ. I walked with God every day in all the truth I had about Him. One day I met someone at a place where I was working that said to me no one in the Bible was ever baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, but only in the name of Jesus Christ. I kindly replied is that so and did not swing the Word of God as a bat against him. I went home and began to ask my best Friend (God and His word) about what this person had said. I first discovered that there is no record of anyone saying the words in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit over them in water baptism. This is my Friend and His word that he was talking about. I found in the book of Acts, that I hardly ever heard anyone speak about, several places where the people were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and not for the reason of public profession of their faith, but for the purpose of removing their sins, which is fantastic removing your sins. How important is it to have your sins washed away. I absolutely love the thoughts of having my sins washed away in the name of Jesus. There is no more powerful name than the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12). In my later studies with God and His word I came to understand that the blood of the lamb was inside the name of Jesus, the Spirit and the Father are made of Spirit with no blood in them. You cannot kill the Father or the Spirit on the cross only Jesus the man side. Jesus is the name of the Father – I came in my Father’s name Jesus said (Jn. 5:43; 10:25), Jesus is the name of the Son (Mtt. 1:21), and the Holy Spirit is sent to us in the name of Jesus (Jn. 14:26). These three titles are represented in one name – Jesus.

I trusted the Bible more than I trusted people. I studied and prayed to make sure this person was not twisting the words of the Bible for his own religious brainwashing. When I found consistency and God’s approval that is all I needed to trust my best Friend in doing what I needed to do to get closer to Him. I was baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the removal of all my sins (Acts 2:38) not because of this person’s word, not because of religious peer pressure, but because my heavenly Father was in full agreement of this is being born of the water (Jn. 3:5). It is extremely simple Jesus disciple the apostles to the day he died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day giving them instructions on what to do when He, Jesus, leaves the earth passing onto the apostles what to preach and the first sermon of what to do to be saved was preached in Acts chapter two. God the Father (Spirit) passed on the ministry to the Son Jesus (God inside of his flesh), passed on the ministry to the apostles born again of the water and the Spirit (Spirit-Flesh-Spirit Ministry). We now have this ministry to pass onto others without fear of questions.

Religions are afraid to surrender themselves in the simple truths of the Bible. Their traditions are more important than pure truth. I choose to live freely with no fear of questions about my best friend God and His word. Do not be afraid to question for if it is of man’s doctrine – it will fail, but if it is from God it will be unstoppable (Acts 5:38,39). For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth (2 Cor. 13:8).

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. God wants you to know everything.
