God had Timothy to write down for all of us to read “For the love of money is the root of all evil…” (1Timothy 6:10). What catches my attention is the “..love of money…” and “…all evil…“. Money means power. If you have money you can buy the best of clothes, the best of food/drinks, the best style of travel, the best of homes/locations, and the best services of people. The “..love of money…” is the love of power over everything else.
Jesus did not leave money for a power over the world. He did not leave money to pay off our everyday debts of this world. He left us a power that does not have any evil in it even down to the roots. He left us a power that we can love without any fear of falling into a trap, foolishness, or hurtful temptations that destroys us. He left us something that will take our sorrows and turn them into joys unspeakable.
The “leaving us” part that comes to my mind goes along with what someone would give us something they wanted us to have, possibly moving far away, or as a death departing gift of inheritance. A departure gift or a “I want you to have“. What did Jesus leave us? What did God leave us?
WHAT DID GOD LEAVE US?
God left the first two people He created in His image and likeness, our first parents, all the earth as a gift for them to do whatever they wanted with it with only one exceptional rule that would change that freedom. An entire planet was their gift. God did not give them money, but an entire planet. Why would they need money? There was nothing left to buy. A retirement plan of no worries, no stress, no evil neighbors, only one tree with evil fruit to avoid. Side thought: The evil fruit will not come after them. They will have to choose to go to it.
God gave our first parents a gift of rotating light and darkness, but in the night He made sure there would be stars and a moon reflecting light. God gave our first parents animals running around at their feet and by their sides to enjoy and play with. When our first parents looked deep into the water God gave them different kinds of sea creatures to watch as they swim around gracefully. When our first parents looked up into the sky they would see these beautiful winged creatures soaring so effortlessly on the wind with a background of clear blue sky. I can only think of “Ah, what a life“.
God gave them everything and there was no need for a reason to have the love of money because the all the earth was theirs. They already had all the power of the earth possible given to them. No money, just an entire planet and one choice is all that our first parents had left to them from God.
Since there was no need for money to be desired, but there was a power to be desired beyond having the earth. God was the only thing more powerful than all the earth. The love of power has a temptation to go beyond what God has already given you. Adam and Eve had power over all the earth and all that is within it. What else could they want?
Why would you need money when all things were good, an entire planet with a perfect eco system, all harmless creatures, and one choice is what God left you? The one choice was one tree among thousands of good trees in all the earth with corrupted fruit of evil and sin mixed in it causing disease and death to all who ate it. The freedom of choice is the most powerful thing God left to us and our choices have good or evil consequences.
This is where the “..love of money…“, power, was born. Adam and Eve were not satisfied with just the power over the earth. They with their each individual reasons wanted a power equal with God whether it was knowledge or the shear authority power equal with God. That one bad choice changed all the world they had into chaos, sin, disease, and death.
God left a good planet and a good life to our first parents. Our first parents, Adam and Eve, left us an inheritance of sin, death, selfishness, and the love of power over people – “..love of money…“. The earth has been lost to evil and God did not come to save the earth, but for you and me.
GOD GAVE US SOMETHING ELSE
After we, all of mankind, lost it all by Adam and Eve deciding for us, God was able to give us something else before it was a total loss. God did not give us money to buy our way out of sin. He did not recreate another earth for us to go live in peace because now sin was inside our bodies no matter where we go evil is with us. God gave us a promise of a son to be born inside our fleshly system to give us a new life redeemed from a destiny of eternal punishment. God did not give us money, but a Word of promise to save our souls.
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mtt. 16:26) God left us a promise with the ability of choice once again to free our soul. We may not gain the whole world, but we shall save our soul by what God left to us in redemption.
GOD’S NEW GIFT
God, Himself, will personally deliver this new gift left for mankind to freely choose or freely ignore for generations to come.
“ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman…; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Gen. 3:15) “…God will provide himself a lamb…” (Gen. 22:8) “…as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” (Heb. 2:14). “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” (Col. 2:9) “…God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Cor. 5:19)
God’s new gift is a choice because the first choice was taken away from us. God will give the fullness of Himself inside a born son of man, living with what we live with, defeat death as death strikes the body He dwells in on the cross only for God to resurrect that body, destroying the power of death, and returning a freedom of choice to us all. We lose the world and gain our soul.
WHAT DID JESUS LEAVE US
By Adam and Eve’s choice it left us with a body made of flesh and blood that cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 15:50). Our natural body made of this earth cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God because our flesh interprets them to be foolishness causing us to never know God for the reason they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14). Our flesh will never love God.
We are all living souls trapped inside a sinful state separated from God because of Adam and Eve. Jesus was the only male child born into this world without sin, pure in body, and pure in spirit. His Spirit is beyond a living soul, but a quickening spirit. Quickening simply means to make alive. The Spirit of Jesus has the power to make a living soul eternally alive to God.
When you read about Jesus and his interactions with people you are reading how a real son of God should behave instead of the example Adam and Eve gave us. Adam was more earthly minded than heavenly minded. Jesus was rightfully proportioned with living in this world, but not of this world maintaining his spiritual walk with God. Jesus left us an example on how to be a real son to God.
Jesus always kept the right mindset in all situations that even the devil or mankind could not trick him into failing God. Jesus kept his will in alignment with God’s will. Jesus faced his own death praying to God with the determination “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luke 22:42). Jesus left us an example how our spirit can overcome the world the right way.
JESUS DID NOT LEAVE US MONEY
Jesus left us his example on how walk, talk and face things on a day by day basis maintaining a pure relationship with God at the same time. He gave us gold nuggets of truths concerning God, but most of all he gave us his life. We have the life of Jesus in us if we choose God’s gift left for us and all generations.
He gave us his death in place of our sin death debt that we owed inherited by Adam and Eve. He gave us his burial in the grave. He gave us his resurrection that we could never achieve by ourselves. Jesus did not leave us money, but he did leave us all that God gave him as a man to us. Money and power can do nothing to save us, but Jesus has all power and authority for the quickening/making alive of our soul.
I WANT WHAT JESUS LEFT ME
We have to go through the same stages Jesus went through to receive our inheritance. The good news is we do not have to physically die on a cross, be physically buried, and physically resurrected. Jesus did all that, but we need to die, be buried, and resurrected in parallel actions. It is called being born again of water and of the Spirit (Jn. 1:1-6).
The first thing we have to do in the dying stage, which repenting is a spiritual parallel of us dying out to our sins and sinful ways to never go back to them again. A death to natural fleshly ways that are contrary with God. So, repenting is a spiritual decision inside our soul to die out to worldly and sinful ways. A spiritual covenant with God’s Spirit.
The second thing we have to do is the burial in a grave like Jesus, which water baptism is the spiritual parallel of us being buried with Jesus. This is where the power of the blood that is in the name of Jesus applies forgiveness washing away all our sins when the name of Jesus pronounced over us going under water, in the spiritual grave typology, cleaning our spirit with a good conscience in the sight of God releasing us from all spiritual debt of eternal death.
The third thing we have to do is to receive the power of resurrection like Jesus did when God returned to his body, which is parallel of us yielding our spirit, “thy will be done“, experiencing the infilling of the power of the Holy Ghost quickening/making alive our soul. As a sign to you that this powerful resurrecting spiritual birth has occurred God said He would speak with your voice in another language that you have not naturally learned (Is. 28:11) proving the oneness of His Spirit and your spirit.
Jesus did not leave us money. He left us a born again inheritance that will only cost us repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of his Holy Spirit (Act 2:38). After these three steps of receiving your newness of life you will begin to hear his Spirit of wisdom guiding you into daily truth every day that you live on this earth. A walk and talk with God every second you want to fellowship with Him.
Jesus left us a way to God filled with truth and a life that is approved by God to enter into His presence (Jn. 14:6). Jesus left us his life. No money or power of this world can match the eternal benefits we will receive daily from Jesus Christ, God manifested in flesh (1 Tim. 3:16).
