Jn. 4:4 “God is a Spirit…” that is fully present everywhere at all times. God’s Spirit is Omnipresent signifying there is no place in all of creation that He is not present Ps. 139:7-10; Jer. 23:23-24. There is no escape from His presence, regardless of the location. Every atom and DNA has God’s presence, power, and knowledge holding it together forming the physicality and the purposeful functionality. We all live, move, and have our being in Him Acts 17:28 the scripture says.
Trying to imagine and grasp God’s Spirit is everywhere can be challenging. A crude, but simple way is to look at the air we breathe. Can you see all of the air at once? The answer would be “no“, but we know the air is there that we breathe. For any creation to see God is not to look for His All Presence, which is impossible, but look for what God formed inside Himself for creation to interact with. God formed something in His Spirit as a representative if He were to be a single solid form.
Gen. 1:1“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Jn. 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The “Word” is what God formed inside Himself for all creation to interact with. No creation is big enough to interact with a fully present everywhere at all times Spirit. All creations have a single and finite location of themselves. God formed His “Word” as a single and finite location of Himself simply to interact with His creations, yet remaining everywhere.
If the fully present everywhere at all times Spirit of God wanted to be of a solid form we can see what God formed within Himself as this single and finite representation by looking at Adam. Gen. 1:27 “So God created man in his own image…” Mankind was made with a head, a torso, arms, hands, legs, and feet. God’s representative the “Word” of Himself has the same features we see in ourselves. God did NOT make Adam as an All Present spirit or we could never see Adam just like we cannot see air. God made Adam, mankind, after the “Word” pattern if God were to be of solid form.
We can see God through His “Word“. In my tiny imagination I can see the “Word” as a solid Spirit form with a head, a torso, arms, hands, legs, and feet while still connected to the fully present everywhere at all times Spirit of God actively keeping all of us and all of creation doing the functions and purpose they were called to do. The key thought here is He did not make Adam and all present person, but a single and finite location of a living soul represented by a body to communicate with as the “Word” is to God.
HIS IMAGE and LIKENESS
If we look at Adam that God made after His image and likeness we can see why God had a form of Himself known as the “Word“. You and I can see each other by looking at our bodies. We are not like the air or like God’s fully present everywhere at all times Spirit. We see people that have a head, a torso, arms, hands, legs, and feet, but we do NOT see their spirit. I can see the color of your eyes, hair, and facial expressions, but I cannot see your spirit. Your body is your representative for your spirit.
Adam’s body was like the “Word” is to God. We can interact with each other through our body’s abilities, but cannot see the spirit inside. You cannot see my spirit, but my voice speaking through my physical mouth reveals the type of communication and thoughts my spirit possesses. My body reveals in its own way a language of the spirit inside. The words and deeds of my body reveals my spirit as well as it does yours. You and I do not have direct contact from spirit to spirit, except through our bodies. So it is with God in words and deeds to all creation through His “Word“.
Remember, in the beginning was the “Word” and the “Word” was with God, and the “Word” was God? In verse three it says, 3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” We know God through His words and deeds done by His “Word” representative. Our bodies are our representatives of our spirit. The things we make from the thoughts of our spirit in this world are done by our bodies. The action of mine and your bodies shows the work of our spirits. The “Word” shows the works of God’s Spirit. This is why nothing that was made was made without God’s representative the “Word” doing the work.
The “Word” is God’s head, torso, arms, hands, legs, and feet for His fully present everywhere at all times Spirit. The “Word” is God’s mouth that spoke “Let there be light” in Genesis chapter one. The “Word” was the hands of God forming the man from the dust of the ground. The “Word” was the nostrils that breathed the breath of life into the man. The “Word” created a living soul in the representative fleshly body as the light inside a man for all to see. The “Word” is the All Present God sitting upon the throne.
Gen. 2:7 “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Jn. 1:4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” The “Word” represents the All Present Spirit of God and our bodies represent our living soul made in the image and likeness of God. In the garden of Eden the “Word” representing the fully present everywhere at all times God walked and talked with the body of Adam that represented his living soul (like Father like son).
AFTER THE FALL
When Eve and Adam turned their backs on God and did not listen to Him speaking directly face to face the sinful fall put a separation from all of mankind and God. We could no longer handle in our sinful state standing directly in the presence of God’s “Word” body. The “Word” was the buffer between us and the fully present everywhere at all times Spirit of God. As an example, we cannot breathe in All the air of the earth. Our lungs can only handle a portion of the air. The “Word” was with Adam and Eve representing God’s massive all present Spirit that they could handle of God’s presence. Sin separated the ability to stand directly in God’s presence.
Now, mankind has lost that direct portion, buffer, and single point of fellowship with the All Present God due to sin. God, the “Word“, knew we were made of earth and His Spirit. We were living souls made physically and spiritually after the pattern of the “Word“. God knew He could put one more buffer between us and Him returning our fellowship status with Him. He, the “Word“, could create a fleshly body without sin inside the birth channel of mankind, paying the price, and the judgment in our place.
God could create a fleshly body for His “Word” to dwell in to save mankind if he should so choose. Another words, Jesus Christ the man filters out our sins by his blood sacrifice on the cross, returning us to spirit and truth fellowship with God, and allowing once again a connection to God’s All Present Spirit. We cannot see the All Present Spirit of God without Jesus the man and the “Word“. Jn. 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” If you want to see God you will have to see Him through the eyes of Jesus.
In the beginning God used His formed “Word” as the pattern and plan for all creations to interact with His fully present everywhere at all times Spirit. Adam and Eve had fellowship with God through His “Word” body. This was the only way to SEE Him. After sin entered mankind Jesus Christ the man became the only way we could reconnect with His “Word” and SEE Him. We Jn. 3:7 “…must be born again.” v5 “…of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” We have Jesus, Jesus has the fullness of the “Word“, and the “Word” is that focal point to the fully present everywhere at all times Spirit of God.
God wants us and all creation to see Him and He made a way for that to happen. He gave His creations a consciousness to see and know Him through His “Word” and now we have a redeeming chance through Jesus Christ the man. Being born again of the water and of the Spirit is our salvation and redemption through Jesus Christ back to the “Word“. Water baptism in Jesus name applying his blood of forgiveness and the washing away of our sins is the born again of the water. The infilling of the gift of the Holy Ghost with power and God given signs of speaking in a language we have not learned is the born again of the Spirit. Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.“
We should not deny the power of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ and if we do it only shows we are 2 Tim. 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:” as God tells us “from such turn away.” Not one of us can go to the Father except through Jesus Christ. Jn. 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The All Present God is the “Word” and the fullness of the “Word” was in Jesus Col. 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” reconciling us back to God. Jesus is the temple we go through to get to the holiest of holies. I hope you can see the different stages of returning back to the fellowship Adam and Eve once had with God. May God send you His blessings and divine fellowship.
