“If I were God” has crossed many people’s minds. Situations in our lives have caused those thoughts from different emotions or curiosities of the imagination. In angry moments “If I were God” I would fry them all. “If I were God” I would not have let this happen. “If I were God” I would do away with and you fill in the blank. “If I Became Like God” does not have the freedom of all things we want to do like we think. The thoughts “If I were God” has more to it than we realize far beyond the power of control.

I know your mind is thinking like mine on the thoughts of “If I were God” I would do this and that. Hollywood made a movie about a person fulfilling the “If I were God” with the conclusion handling All things is best left up to God with all capacity of knowledge He has, all the managing power He has, and the ability to be in all places at once without any overwhelming pressure to operate it all. All things from the tiniest molecule to the largest object God does not struggle handling it along with all prayers being spoken to Him.

“If I Became Like God” is a mind numbing thought when you stretch your understanding to All Things running under His power. I did not realize I was only seeing God from my point of view thinking of “If I Became Like God” with the desire to do away with disease, death, pain, killing, and many other horrible things we see in this life. There is another side to God that the majority of us do not see. God has something in Him that He does not want anyone to have.

God did not want anyone to become like Him. He wanted to keep some things to Himself. It was not that He wanted to protect His position as God. He was not afraid of any creation taking over His place of authority. Why is it God does not want any creation to be one hundred percent like Him? None of the angels in heaven were created one hundred percent like God. He was, is, and always will be the One True God having it all in Him and no other god beside Him. “I am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will (d)gird you, though you have not known Me;” Isaiah 45:5. For the fact of sparing all creation of the horrors of the other side.

ANOTHER SIDE TO GOD

Here is the side we do not think about when it comes to God. Inside of God He had the totality of the knowledge of good and the totality of the knowledge of evil. Inside of God is the All Power of Good and the All Power of Evil. Inside of God is the All Presence of Good and the All Presence of Evil. Inside of God is the All knowledge of Good and the All Knowledge of Evil. We all want to think God is good and that is one hundred percent true, but also God has evil inside Him. “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” Isaiah 45:7 God is God with both sides within Him, but His choice is good and evil has no say so inside of God with God. Evil only had say so when some of the angels and mankind tried to possess it.

“If I Became Like God” has the package deal of not only All Power, but Power of evil along with it. Before there were any creations and it was only God He Alone had both the knowledge of good and evil. God has the side of Him to create light and to create darkness. God can make peace and create evil and He says, “… I the LORD do all these things.” This is a hard thought to swallow that God “…create evil“, but that created evil came by the releasing choice of angels and Adam/Eve. Now, here is where we truly see the intentions of God in His creations.

Remember, God did not want anyone to become one hundred percent like Him protecting us from the horror of evil. He wanted to keep some things to Himself. It was not that He wanted to protect His position as God. He was not afraid of any creation taking over His place of authority. We can see by His actions in creation His choices of His personal desire and we see who chose evil releasing that side to do it’s bidding.

He created heaven and the angels first. There is no record that in their DNA, if you will, of any knowledge of evil in them. God chose the angels and heaven to be absolutely one hundred percent free from evil, all good. When God walked among their good only He alone kept evil separated, contained, and controlled within Himself. The angels did not have to worry with the evil side getting loose because God kept it in place by His choice. There was no creature in heaven meant to have the knowledge of evil for God was sparing them the horrors of the knowledge of evil and its effects like a parent would a child from harms way.

“If I Became Like God” I would have to handle the side of evil and that is truly the only thing God can do. To have the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil inside a creation would need God Himself there to help them to handle it. Without God the knowledge of evil would create all of it’s disasters upon whomever will allow it. There is no evidence any creation was originally made with the presence of evil.

There was a good angel who started looking at the power of the knowledge of evil inside God. He had the thoughts “if I were God” or “If I Became Like God” I would do this and that. He made the choice and the decision along with convincing other good angels to follow him to take over heaven, create his own throne above the stars of God, sitting in front of everyone in heaven above the heights of the clouds, and making himself “Like God” Isaiah 14:13, 14 was a result of God’s knowledge of evil overpowering the angels.

The angel’s minds and bodies were not capable to contain and control the knowledge of evil. Evil took them over bringing chaos and death. Good does not need law and order. Good has self-control, gentleness, faithfulness, kindness, patience, peace, joy, and a foundation of love with no law necessary (Galatians 5:22, 23). God was protecting the angels from the horrible knowledge and actions of evil. The angels were sadly mistaken on the thought of “If I Became Like God” because of the other side of God that only He can keep separate, contained, and controlled.

To be “Like God” one hundred percent was not feasible for any creation and that is not what God desired in His creations. It takes God to equal Himself. God knew inside the side of the knowledge of evil would bring “…immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these…” and creations that practice such things would not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). God wanted only good to exist and the choice of evil would be like Him of keeping separate, contained, and controlled.

God did not want the side of evil to be free and active like we see today. God did not want anyone to experience the knowledge of evil. It is like a police officer does not want to tell his/her family the horrible abuses, stabbings, shootings, and decapitated bodies he/she sees at work on a daily basis to protect them from such knowledge. This would apply to ER workers, surgeons, and funeral home workers. The scripture list in the previous paragraph is just a fraction of the horrors of the knowledge of evil. Evil existed in God along with the Good, but it was the choices of others that activated the knowledge, power, and presence of evil and not God. It was not God’s fault. He wanted creations to be good, but not programmed robots without the freedom of choice, but a price always comes with the freedom of choice.

WE DID BECOME LIKE GOD

It was not a matter of “If I became Like God“, but a matter of being born like God, but one sided. Being like God is only in the category of knowing good and evil in this world, but born into the side of evil with death, the grave, and hell waiting on us because all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) – born under evil. We were born not with the equal power, knowledge, and presence like God only the coming to know the good and evil in this world. The police, EMTs, emergency rooms workers, hospitals, funeral homes, high crime areas, and other such like see more of the knowledge of evil in action, but all will face the knowledge of evil in this world in some form or another. People today are still wanting the evil power and control do what they want over mankind and not the equal goodness one towards another.

There was no danger in having the knowledge of good in all creations. The danger came from the knowledge evil having a place inside creation. The tragedy of becoming like God in knowing and having the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil was evil needed God’s strength to keep it in place. No creation has God’s strength at that level. It would take God equaling God to keep the two knowledges in their place. Good does not need God to keep it in control. Good is free to do whatever it wants. Evil was the only one that needed God to keep it in control. Evil was not free to do whatever it wants because God kept it in place, but we see in history and our present day what evil wants to do.

Adam and Eve were the first creations made in the image and likeness of God, but not one hundred percent like God. God wanted good fellowship only in His children and to spare them of the horrible things the knowledge of evil would bring. All things in the garden were good, except for one tree and eating of this tree would release the knowledge and the effects of evil. God freely told them of the garden and the warning of the tree of the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil. It was not a hidden trap, but explained and known.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s warning bringing disobedient sin into their life and was taken over by evil just like the angels. We did become like God in the sense of now knowing good and evil without His controlling power over evil inside of us. Evil was never meant to be inside of us. It takes God equaling God to keep evil in its place and no creation can do it without Him. Our choices will always have consequences.

IT TAKES GOD EQUALING GOD

Now, that we have become like God in knowing good and evil, but in a fallen state of sin because only God can handle the knowledge of evil, which He keeps separated, contained, and controlled. We, His children, are now subject to being sent to hell, which is the place of separation, containment, and controlled evil. We became like Him, but as a loving Father He would not stand for His children to go to hell. He knew it would take God to equal out this situation with His other side. God would have to become like us to save us. God’s goodness would have to pay God’s evil punishment with God becoming like us and pay it Himself as one of us. If we became like God then God’s answer was Him becoming like us providing His power for a way of escape for His children from hell.

This is one of the most powerful understandings you can come to see with understanding and perception. It takes God to equal God’s other side. For us to pass from the side of evil back into His side of Good we need God’s bridge to cross back over from death to life. Do you see it takes God’s power equaling God’s power through us to make it back? Angels, mankind, and all creation do not have enough power to overcome God’s side of the knowledge of evil only God can.

God equaling God shines the light on our creation made in His image and likeness. We were made completely on the side of good just like the angels. We were given absolute power of freedom of choice like the angels. The angels were made of total eternal substance. We were made partly of the earth and an eternal soul breathed directly from God. God made us in His image and likeness with an avenue to save us if we did something like some of the angels did and try the knowledge of evil by our choice. God made us like Him so He could become like us to save us if the need should arrive.

GOD MUST BECOME LIKE US

Adam and Eve crossed over to the side of evil completely under its power and control. God reacted like a loving Father and said He would put hatred between the seed of evil to the seed of good. The seed of good will one day make a fatal strike to the headship over mankind, but your evil seed will strike his heel bringing death to his flesh (Genesis 3:15). This seed will be God equaling the payment to His knowledge of evil side through the flesh of mankind creating a fleshly bridge or doorway back to the side of Good with God’s power enabling mankind the ability to separate, contain, and control evil through Him that comes from a daily walk with Him.

God must become like us in order to save us. God must become like sin from the good side that knew no sin to pay the price of death for us bridging the return to goodness (2 Cor. 5:21). No one is good, but the Father (Mtt. 19:17, Mark 10:18, Luke 18:19). It takes God to equal God’s requirements. It makes perfect sense that only God can keep evil in its place. No creation was ever made originally to contain the knowledge of evil.

People would love to be like God, but they do not realize the power of the other side of God’s goodness. He never meant for anyone to take on His other side. Now, that the other side has us in its grip God would not stand by and do nothing. God became like us, living in the flesh and blood so that through death of the body He would destroy the power of death over us (Hebrews 2:14). God came in the flesh of mankind (Colossians 2:9) to reunite us to Himself and forgive us of our sins (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Just like Abraham, a father to a son, told Isaac, “…God will provide himself a lamb…” (Genesis 22:8). Jesus was and is the Lamb of God for mankind provided by God Himself. God became like us. The Holy Spirit of God formed a baby boy seed inside a virgin woman (Mtt. 1:18, 20) conceived of the Holy Ghost. This baby boy had the Spirit of God inside of him with unlimited measure (Jn. 3:34), which means God Himself. I know our minds have a difficult time wrapping around God managing all things from within an unborn baby, an infant, a little child, a young adult, and then an adult. What is space to unlimited God? This is where we need to see the body was the only thing that was growing in time and the Spirit of God inside of him never diminished or shrunk in size in All Knowledge, All Power, and All Presence. If God is God He can be God anywhere from the tiniest location to the greatest location.

God became like us to save us, but did not stop being God. Adam and Eve like some of the angels tried the “If I Became Like God” and found out they could not withstand the overpowering knowledge of evil converting them to sin and evil. Just like when we wish today “If I Became Like God” I could fix things the way I want them to be fixed. God’s full Deity was dwelling inside that body (Col. 2:9) without the the temptations of sin overpowering him (Heb. 4:15). This body of Jesus was a form only in Spirit in the beginning (Jn. 1:1,2, 14) because it was the image and likeness of what God would be if His Spirit was physical, which explains God was ready to become like us if we chose the knowledge of evil.

This is how the Spirit of Jesus/God was before all things and in Him all things are held together (Col. 1:17) because it was God Himself on standby for Himself to move from His Spirit image/likeness to come as a man He named Jesus. The Spirit side of Jesus the man was God in Spirit form creating all things by the pattern of Jesus the man both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible…all things were created through him and for him (Col. 1:16). God wished for His children to be like Himself/Jesus with the fellowship of a father and son like relationship, but the knowledge of evil separated it. God became like us moving His Spirit form of Jesus into a fleshly man Jesus to restore that relationship. “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” (2 Cor. 5:19).

WE CAN BECOME LIKE GOD

To become like God we have to return from the side of evil and sin. The angels that sinned could not return on their own and we cannot return on our own. It takes God to return us from the side of evil back into the side of good He has chosen from death back to life. The angels are eternal beings and cannot experience the death of a man and resurrection to life through a man. God equals God through the death of the man Jesus returning us back to Him through Jesus Christ only. Jesus said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Jn. 14:6).

The original and only plan of salvation the disciples of the Bible preached was Repentance, water baptism in Jesus name for the forgiveness of sins and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). This is how we return and become like God. The children He wanted from the beginning to have a father and son relationship. We do not become like God wheedling His power around like Lucifer wanted, but become saved children of Light as He is the Light (1 Jn. 1:7). Jesus is the man of the pure Light of God wanted in His children with no darkness and we can become like him.

It makes absolute undeniable perfect sense the totality of being born again is completely in Jesus that God provided Himself a sacrifice for all of mankind. The Spirit of God backs the blood in the name of Jesus (…no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12) to wash away eternal sins in water baptism. The Spirit of God backs the infilling of the Holy Ghost with power to learn and to be able to separate, contain, and control the knowledge of evil. It takes God to forgive sins. It takes God to have the power enough to separate, contain, and control evil in our lives. How many can absolutely and totally control their thoughts? We can be like God in the sense of knowing good and evil, but placing them in the same place God puts them as He shows us like He did through Jesus.

The thoughts “If I Became Like God” are no longer for the wheedling power to change things for yourself, but to become like God in the sense of saving your own soul returning to the state of the child of God He wanted to have fellowship throughout all eternity. He wants us to be like Him freeing ourselves from the control of sin and the knowledge of evil. This is why the second birth has the two parts of water baptism and the infilling of His Holy Spirit for us to discover freedom together each day with Him.

Have you become like God returning yourself to that pure state of His original creation of His image and likeness separating, containing, and controlling evil in your life? Have you been baptized in the name of Jesus with the power of God backing the blood in that name to wash away your sins? Have you prayed seeking the infilling power of God’s Spirit to lead, to guide, and to teach you how to separate, contain, and control sin in your life? It takes God inside of us to defeat the other side God that was never intended for any creation to have just like a father protecting his child from experiencing the horror He knew it would bring.
