It is not that I cannot speak words or make intelligent sounds with my vocal cords. The same words I have spoken to you are easily understood by others. The Merriam-Webster says a zombie is a will-less and speechless human creature held to believed to have died and been supernaturally reanimated…to resemble the so-called walking dead.
